Interrogation-based evaluation of a planning project

Evaluation the repowering project Ellhöft
Four wind energy converters of the type “Siemens bonus 2.3 MW” with a total height of 139.5 m will be built adjacently to the existing wind farm in the municipality of Ellhöft in the very north of Schleswig-Holstein, at the Danish border. As a countermove, a total of 32 smaller old wind energy converters will be dismantled in several municipalities in the same region. OECOS GmbH was engaged to accompany and to evaluate this project, in order to see if it is an example worthy enough of reduplication.
The first step of our work dealt with the old plants themselves, the old plants’ locations, the operator structure and the perception of the plan by residents and tourists. In particular, a resident and tourist interrogation as well as an interrogation of the plant operators was carried out. The results of these interviews offer meaningful evidence concerning the acceptance of wind energy and especially repowering projects.
