Landscape analysis for the approval procedure in accordance to the marine law

The current Kriegers Flak wind farm project conducted by EnBW Ostsee Offshore GmbH was originally planned by Offshore Ostsee Wind AG and was supervised through the approval procedure in accordance to the marine law.

Offshore Ostsee Wind AG commissioned OECOS in 2002 to carry out the landscape analysis and evaluation as a part of the environmental impact assessment for the marine law approval procedure. The aim of this study was to obtain the most realistic estimation possible of the probable visual impacts. For this forecast of the visual impacts expected for this project, basic information was gathered, such as initial environmental examinations, and landscape and project representations were generated. The resulting assessment evaluated whether considerable or lasting landscape spoiling was to be expected as a consequence of the construction of the offshore wind farm.

The Kriegers Flak project was approved by the Federal Office of Ocean Shipping and Hydrography on the 6th April 2005.
