Landscape planning measures accompanying a grid line

Intervention compensation planning

GEO mbH (Society for Energy and Ecology) plans the erection of the wind energy demonstration field GEOFReE. The wind farm will contain five wind energy converters with a total performance of approximately 25 MW in the south of the Mecklenburg Bay. The power will be conducted via the Göhl transformer station to the 110 kV grid. A 36/110 kV three-phase cable connection is planned.

The building and the operation of the cable connection is an intervention in nature and landscape according to § 7.2.7 of the law concerning the sustainable development of nature and landscape in the Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein (LNatSchG). GEO mbH therefore applied for an intervention approval. According to § 54b.3 of the LNatSchG, the Environmental Ministry of Schleswig Holstein, being the topmost conservation authority, is responsible for the intervention approval.

The cable route crosses potential or established NATURA2000 conservation areas. For these areas it is necessary to investigate whether the project - alone or together with other projects - can considerably impair the area.

The investor engaged the OECOS team to prepare the environmental and conservation-related documents for the approval procedure.
