Implementation of Procedures

The team of OECOS GmbH has conducted a high number of planning and approval procedures on different planning levels and is well known and highly regarded by numerous planning and technical authorities of the North German federal states. However we do not limit ourselves solely to the writing of reports and studies, but also offer intensive process support, where we prepare the planning steps, dispense advice and foster contacts with the authorities.

Advice and support may include:

• participation in the preparation and implementation of application conferences and hearings ,
• advice and support regarding the Web-based publication of procedural documents and interactive public participation via the Internet,
• participation in the professional environment defining the scope of the investigation,
• technical assistance in the decision-making process weighing all the factors involved.

The nature of our support is case-specific as agreed with the client.
OECOS GmbH closely accompanied the project “Re-powering as part of sustainable regional development in Northwest Dithmarschen”, for instance, to implement the National Strategy on Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM). OECOS’ monitoring activities ultimately resulted in the foundation of an association. It could be shown that planning and legal instruments can be used successfully by local and regional ICZM processes to cope with significant developments with their often complex constellations of active participants and special problems in a space-saving, efficient and environmentally friendly way.
The final report “Implementation of the National Strategy on Integrated Coastal Zone Management : Strategies , tools and measures to ensure economy, eco-friendly and efficient scope of the resource ‘area’ in the coastal zone: Case studies in regions with a special need for action” (UBA-Texte 04/2012) was published in 2012 and can be downloaded from the Federal Environment Agency (UBA) site.
