Ecological Monitoring of a Wind Farm Construction Site

A wind farm in an area with a sensitive avifauna in northern Lower Saxony has been approved under the condition of ecological construction- and operation-monitoring. By now, OECOS Ltd. has carried out the construction-monitoring and will likely carry out the operation-monitoring as well, which is targeted at a specific species of bird.

To prepare for the operation-monitoring, the surrounding area of the planned building site has been searched for breeding sites. Sensitive locations were then generously marked, e.g. with warning tape. Furthermore, OECOS Ltd. has briefed the staff of the construction company accordingly. To guaranty a continuous protection of the endangered species, the restricted areas have been frequently checked and updated.
