Landscape Envelope Plan in the Port of Hamburg

In the context of the current restructuring of the Hamburg port, the HPA plans to lease and develop part of the Polder Wittern. The projected buildings must be considered as an intrusion on the natural landscape according to Article 9 (1) of the Hamburg Nature Conservation Act (HmbNatSchG). HPA commissioned OECOS GmbH to prepare an intervention mitigation plan in order to identify the intensity of the impact on the ecological system and the natural scenery as well as the importance of the potential compensation or replacement demand.
