Technology Comparisons

A comparison of technologies is frequently part of the obligatory evaluation of alternatives in an Environmental Impact Assessment. Technologies of renewable energy and network expansions are constantly evolving and experience dynamic developments. Consequently, newly developed and revised technology must be repeatedly evaluated on altered environmental impacts. On behalf of the German Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, and the German Federal Environmental Agency, OECOS Ltd. has compared and valuated technologies of power lines and power storage in various research and development projects on the basis of extensive literature research. On behalf of 50Hertz Offshore Ltd., we are currently charged with an ecological construction supervision and the subsequent evaluation of two distinct technologies of underground cable laying, regarding their potential environmental impacts.
