Greenfield Analysis of Wind Site Development at the Municipal Level

The energy concept of the German government provides an increase in renewable energies over the next decades. This will only succeed if the contribution of wind energy increases significantly. OECOS GmbH conducts site analyses at the community level which are mostly based on our county-wide investigations in order to detect additional potential areas for wind turbines that do not conflict with the environment or land uses. The starting point for these studies is always the valid land-use plan and, if available, the landscape planning.

Based on our long experience, the definition and assessment of the areas are discussed in close coordination with the client. The benefits and advantages of this method lie in the prompt availability and high detail accuracy of results, and in a manageable input of resources.
